Many organizations struggle with smooth succession plans and operational backup plans for staff. Has your organization been in a position when someone was retiring; someone had an unexpected leave of absence; a key staff member was out of the office for several weeks; or you had to downsize and cover the work of 10 people with 5? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then our Succession & Transition Planning Cohort Pilot Program is right for you. This 9-week pilot program is a power-walk that will provide you with the following:

 

1. Training and tools on how to conduct key succession planning related assessments.

2. Space to draft a succession plan for at least 1 critical position.

3. The tools and templates to create succession plans for all critical positions within your organization. 
4. Space to create at least 1-2 SOPs with corresponding training for at least 1 critical position's successor.

5. Tools, templates, and training on how to create SOPs and training for all critical positions, their successors, and their backups.
6. Tools, templates, and training for completing back up plans for all key staff within your organization. 
7. Lunch & Learns with consultants from our community across fields to aid you in this journey.

8. ...and more!

 

Who should participate:
1. Government entities (entity leadership and/or select departments)
2. Nonprofits (organizational leadership) 

 

Key dates:

  • Location: Virtual
  • Cohort Duration: 9 Weeks
  • A representative from your organization needs to be able to attend the kickoff and closing.
  • Cohort Kickoff: Tuesday, May 4, 2027, 12:00-1:00 p.m. CST / 1:00-2:00 p.m. EST
  • Cohort Closing: Friday, July 2, 2027, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CST / 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST
  • Lunch and Learns: Wednesdays starting in Week 2 of the cohort through Week 8 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. CST / 12:00-1:00 p.m. EST.
