Hello
From Carter Bell
Certification & Outreach Specialist
A quote I stand by:
“You might encounter many defeats, but you must never be defeated. In fact, it might be necessary to confront defeat. It might be necessary to get over it, get all the way through it, and go on.” - Maya Angelou

Why do you do this work?
I do this work because I believe that it is my duty to help those who need it in whatever ways I can. As valuable as policymakers can be to creating programs to help others and pursue goals like economic equity, it is also vital that there are attentive people working to ensure that those programs both reach and work for those the programs are supposed to help. This position will allow me to ensure that the benefits of existing programs actually help those in need.
My Story
My name is Carter Bell. I am originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but I moved up to the St. Paul to attend Macalester College. I intended to study history there, but found myself pulled towards studying Political Science, and graduated with a degree in political science in May 2025. Now, having been inspired by the internships I took part in through Macalester, I plan to pursue positions that allow me to help others relatively directly, primarily in fields closely related to government.
